This weekend old pal Hot Lunch was in town from North Dakota. Being a big Rangers fan, Lauren and I took in the game at Target Field with him and Patrick using Standing Room Only tickets, which I throughly enjoyed. Moving around from place to place might be better than sitting in a single seat, in my opinion. We also headed out to Victoria to help Patrick dog-sit for his cousin and hit up an establishment out there. Sunday night we took in the Walshichetti/Feeney bonfire.

I really struggle to keep myself occupied on days like Labor Day, where there was no work and my day was spent totally confined in the apartment. We’re trying not to spend money frivolously, so I entertained myself by watching TV from 10am to 10:30pm. There was The Office marathon on TBS, Six Feet Under marathon on Universal HD, and the Twins game on FSN. With no real hobbies, trying to save pennies, lots of businesses closed, rainy weather, and no household projects to keep me busy since we live in an apartment, days like that are wildly boring for me. I am sure there are going to be times in the future where I’d give anything to have a day where there’s nothing whatsoever going on and I can just sit and do nothing, but I couldn’t do that for more than one day. I would be a complete wreck if I was unemployed and forced to sit around all the time. If I was unemployed for an extended period of time, I’d probably spend my days wandering the streets or maybe even volunteering or something to keep my mind busy.

Luckily, things pick up quite a bit this week. I/we’ve got Lauren’s boss’s Twins tickets tomorrow, watching the Vikings opener on Thursday night, a Supervalu happy hour, another wisdom tooth consultation (dentist is adamant the teeth need to come out asap), the Burke/Assmann wedding, a visit to see the Ahrendts at their new home in Eau Claire, and the softball season finale.
