In 2025’s post, I correctly predicted the Dodgers would win the World Series. Ho-hum, so did everybody else. I only got half the playoff teams right though—3 in each league. I was woefully off on my prediction that the Rangers would win the AL.
As a Twins fan, I have rarely been as pessimistic about a season as this one. The team’s 2025 trade deadline teardown resulted in the team predictably tanking down the stretch, and then they did very little this winter to add on. At least they didn’t attempt a full rebuild and held onto star players. I think if everything goes right—the core players finally live up to expectations, young players take off, injuries aren’t terrible—they could win 75-80 games. But I don’t think that will happen. I hope they do well, I really do. But I look at this as the worst Twins team of all-time, passing the 2016 squad.
Well, here it is—my best guess at how the standings will shake out. I hope I’m wrong!
