Uh-oh, a week has passed since I’ve posted anything on here. I don’t think there’s anything terribly newsworthy to write about, but over the last week I have continued my guitar lessons with Travis and can now play most common chords. It’s just a matter of quickly moving my hand position from one chord to the next which is quite the challenge. Lauren and I also spent our Friday night hosting a double-date with a couple friends we thought might hit it off, but sparks didn’t quite fly. Saturday I DJ’d at the Profile for the first time in over a month and received my best tip since August 2, 2008. Sunday we watched the Vikings game at the Walsh household and then Dexter at Liz’s. We’ve also managed to see the next couple Best Pictures in our project, 1993’s Schindler’s List and 1994’s Forrest Gump, the latter of which I have seen more times than any other movie ever, but it’s still part of the project and we decided not to skip it!
This weekend Ma and Pa are coming to Minneapolis to catch their flight to South Carolina for their 30th anniversary vacation, and will plan to leave their ’08 Impala with us. If we decide we like it, we’ll probably buy it as we’re very ready to upgrade to a newer car. I DJ again on Saturday night and then my schedule really clears up for a while.
I’m also rebuilding the Classic Hall website in my spare time. It has been a very long process, however. The server that the site was originally on did not support WordPress software installation, which I needed to make the site do what I wanted, so I transferred it to Brandon Nase’s server. That wouldn’t have been super difficult except some problems arose with database transfers and e-mail accounts. But Brandon has been extremely helpful throughout and it looks like the project is almost finished.
In sports fandom, I am still really annoyed with the Twins and their pitiful effort in the playoffs again. Many people have tried bringing the Twins up in conversation with me and I’m just not interested in thinking about the team. Maybe this time I’ll be over them for good! The Chargers are Vikings are a combined 4-7, so not much to cheer about there. At least the Timberwolves are 5-1 in preseason! Could they actually be for real? I won’t get my hopes up, but they have looked very good.
