It’s been a pretty uneventful week, as you may have guessed, with the posts of my baseball card designs. I attempted to take a step in the right direction of healthiness as I ate smaller meals all week and didn’t touch beer of any kind since the Super Bowl party. Of course there wasn’t much for exercise mixed in there… And by “much” I mean “any”.

The only time I really gorged myself with food was Tuesday night at Lauren’s birthday dinner with her parents and the Rosoks. We went out to Chapati, perhaps the city’s finest Indian restaurant. I ordered my entree “extra spicy.” Usually when I do that I wind up disappointed with the lack of spiciness, but this time my food was truly sweat-inducing. I think I would say Indian has become my favorite type of food right now. Mom and Dad, perhaps this would be a good rehearsal dinner location come October!

Lauren and I did some more wedding stuff, including a cake testing Wednesday night at the Queen of Cakes. Not a bad way to spend a night, sampling bites of delicious cake. We haven’t made any decisions, but there were some good lemony flavors. Pretty much any place you spend money on a big wedding cake, they’ll give you a free groom’s cake, which can be decorated to suit the groom’s preferences. I was thinking some sort of Dexter blood spatter themed cake, but that might not be the best for a wedding.

The rest of the week was very low-key. We officially signed the one-year lease at the new apartment and slowly have begun sorting through stuff. To minimize the effort of moving in three weeks, I’ve listed a few things on eBay, including all Alex’s old Playstation games which have just been collecting dust for three years. Looking through some of those titles like NBA Live ’98, it doesn’t seem all that long ago Alex and I were having such fun creating ridiculous players and drafting each other’s teams, but that game has been out for like 12 years now. I am debating listing some of my baseball cards, but they’re so worthless that the sentimental value has to be worth more than what little money they’d bring in.

Plans for the weekend are going out for dinner and movie tonight. Lauren and I were hoping to see all the Best Picture nominees before the Oscars. Tonight we’ll try to catch Frost/Nixon. Tomorrow night is a Chinese New Year celebration at Tim and Kate’s. That’s about all I got planned for now.

And no, we have not forgotten about our all-time Best Picture viewing plan!  We still have 1940-1941’s winners sitting there waiting to be watched!
