Here’s a great list of the unusual song selections performed Friday night under aliases such as Hot Daddy & the Monkey Puppets, Ryan C. and Glanzer, and Jason LaPlant and His Comrades.”I Eat Cannibals” by Toto Coleo, a one-hit wonder group from the UK in 1982
“Roll to Me” by Del Amitri

“Afternoon Delight” by the Starland Vocal Band
“Who’s Your Daddy” by Toby Keith
“Torn” by Natalie Imbruglia
“Somebody to Love” by Jefferson Airplane
“Get What You Give” by the New Radicals
“Tiny Dancer” or should I say “Ryan Glanzer” by Elton John
“Time Warp” from the Rocky Horror Picture Show

Long Quote of the Night from Friday at Karaoke
Jason had signed up to do “Time Warp” and put his name on the slip down as Tim Curry, the actor who played Dr. Frank-n-furter in the movie.  The karaoke guy was unaware of this, however, and thought Jason’s name was actually Tim Curry.  After the song ended, some women asked the karaoke guy who sang that song originally.  He asked me, since he didn’t even know.  “Who did that song originally?” asked the black karaoke man.  “Tim Curry,” I replied.  “No, who did it originally?” he asked again, thinking I had misheard his question.  “It was Tim Curry!” I again responded.  Confused, the man looked at me one more time.  “I asked you who sang this song originally, not who just now sang the song!”  Giving in to avoid a scene, I told him it was Jason LaPlant that did the song originally.  The karaoke man told the women, who acted like “Oh, yeah, of course!  Jason LaPlant did that!”  I laughed all the way back to my seat.

Top Ten List | Today’s Topic: Thanksgiving’s Top Ten Thank-Yous of the Year
It’s that time of year again to say thank you to the pilgrims who landed on Fraggle Rock so many years ago, or so said one TV sitcom that I don’t currently recall.  This year, I will say my ten sincere thank-yous to these people.

1. Tom Jones – Thank you Tom Jones, DSU professor, for once again fixing my computer.  I owe you big time.

2. David Glanzer – Thank you David Glanzer, Hollywood casting director, for stumbling upon my website and paying me to build you a website, which also counted as my internship.

3. Jon Mueller – Thank you roommate Jon Mueller, for purchasing that awesome hi-definition big screen TV with the premium cable that I can watch whenever I want.

4. Rivers Cuomo – Thank you Rivers, the lead singer of Weezer, for releasing that awesome album “Make Believe” that I listened to for six months non-stop.

5. Mom & Dad – Thanks parents, for the $2340 or whatever it was for fall tuition payment!

6. Amanda Geditz – Thank you Amanda for making seven long trips from Madison to visit me in the Twin Cities this summer, especially with the ridiculous gas prices.

7. Tammy Jo Zingmark – Thank you Tammy Jo, my boss at AmericInn, for giving me the cushiest job ever even though you knew it was very short-term.

8. Andrew Meyer & Tessie Nelson – Thank you Andrew and Tessie, rookie Valleyfair game ops, for getting me through the long days of work with your witty antics and our story-telling sessions.

9. NBC – Thank you NBC, for not pulling your best shows off the air (The Office and My Name Is Earl), unlike FOX, who doesn’t know a hit when they see one.

10. Visitors to Website – Thank you to all the thousands of different visitors to my website.  I rather enjoy knowing several hundred people will be reading this very sentence.

Well, that’s all for today.  Happy Thanksgiving everyone!

Ryan
