The other day at my place of employment, I was chatting with our Japanese CEO who was in town for the week.  The company president was also in the room at the time.

CEO: Ryan-san, you tall!  Very tall!
Me: Yes, I’m the tallest one here.
CEO: You play ball?  Play sports?
Me: Not anymore.  I’m physically unfit.  But back in the day…
CEO: Rugby!  You should play rugby!
Me: Well, I’ve never tried, but–
CEO: You go to UK office, work in marketing department three to five years, play rugby, come home!
Me: UK?  Well, yeah, sure I guess I can go to the UK.
President: Ryan don’t get your hopes up, he’s joking.
CEO: No!  No joke.  You go three to five years, and come home.

Hmm… I doubt anything will ever come of this.  Especially later when I told Aaron the story and he said, “No way am I sending you to the UK.”  But Lauren really wants to go, so maybe I’ll convince them.

Last night Lauren and I went to Red Lobster’s all-you-can-eat shrimp fest.  The last time I did this, Patrick and I each topped 80 shrimp.  I went in with high hopes, but called it quits after just 48!  I told the waitress how disappointed I was with myself and in an hour, I’d be hungry again and wishing I’d have eaten more shrimp, so she broke the rules and got me two more orders of shrimp in a to-go box.  I wound up giving it to Jason later that night when we stopped by Caribou.  We originally planned on going to a movie, but decided instead to hit up Steve and Andrew’s housewarming kegger in Hopkins.

Today it’s off to Shakopee around 1 to start setting up for the big wedding dance.  So my day’s basically shot!  Tomorrow we’re thinking of going to the big corn maze and enjoying the crisp fall outdoors.
