Got a voicemail today informing me that my and Lauren’s applications were approved (of course!) and now we just need to sign the lease to the apartment a few blocks away on Colfax.
As I’ve said before, the roommates and I have just one more month together before we divide up and go our own ways. When Lauren and I move, it will be the thirteenth time in the last eight years I’ve moved. For those who assume I’m exaggerating as usual, here’s the breakdown and a very colorful chart!
Carpenter > Madison > Shakopee > Madison > Burnsville > Madison > St Louis Park > Madison > Burnsville > Madison > Bloomington > Eden Prairie > Minneapolis > Minneapolis

The longest I stayed at any of those places without leaving is Eden Prairie, for two years, one month. The shortest was the two weeks Nick and I lived with Liz in Bloomington. It wasn’t a full-fleged move, but for those two weeks that was our home and we did move all our stuff into her apartment.
That’s a total of 18 different roommates, 22 if you count my family when I was still on the farm.
And now for the really obscure stat: the only items I can remember that I’ve had with me at every stop along the way are my TV and my autographed Twins jersey.
And to think that I’ve moved 7 times in my entire life (3 of those to separate houses on the same farm!) You’re quite the nomad. Moving stinks, so maybe you’ll stay put for awhile.
