First Fireside went down.  Then the Marrow’ners.  Tonight, we sent the Short Bus All-Stars down in humiliating defeat, 14-10.  We had only four girls and were supposed to take an out when the fifth girl’s spot came up, but no one noticed and we just kept rotating back to the top of the girls’ order.  So essentially every girl batted five times.  We had seven guys, which meant half of us only batted twice.  But we pieced it together into seven-run rallies in the second and fourth innings.  Short Bus scored in every inning, but just a run or two at a time.

Lauren had her finest game, going 2-for-3 with a walk and 2 RBI.  I went 1-for-1 with a sac fly, single, and run.  Walsh had the decisive blow with a three-run… infield pop-up.  No one caught it, and then when it landed they threw it away, so three runs scored and Walsh wound up on third.  Walsh also pitched this one, striking out the side in the third.

Afterwards we all went out to Rail Station for some celebratory brews… and to see Matt Guerrier give up four runs in 2/3 of an inning to blow a win for the Twins at Boston.
