I know I’m not supposed to write about my misadventures at work, but today was an unusual day.  We had a big marketing training at the office.  Invited to attend were the company president, two VPs, the other two directors, two execs from a major computer company, Josh, and me.  The first three hours went alright, though I found the material was a bit over my head.  Lunch was very short, and in the early afternoon I started to get a little claustrophobic in that conference room with no windows.  I started sweating (moreso than usual), fidgeting, my heart raced, and eventually I got dizzy and asked to sit out for a while.

I wandered down the street to a park and took a snooze under a shady tree for an hour, then came back to the office.  It took some self-convincing, but I finally went back into the training for the last hour of the day.  At one time Lauren, Walsh, Sarah, and I had planned on going to Valleyfair after work, but plans fell through largely due to the fact that I hadn’t been informed that there was a big dinner for all training people after work.

We all went down to Maynard’s at Lake Minnetonka and I ate a full rack of ribs, several appetizers, two mugs of Fat Tire, and a giant piece of cheesecake.  That cured what ailed me and I suddenly felt better about the day.  I guess we’ll save Valleyfair for tomorrow.
