I had written this a couple days ago but forgot to post it.  Here’s a few more tidbits of info from the former classmates I bumped into.

Saturday night, I got the chance to hang out with many of my former classmates from Willow Lake High School’s graduating class of 2001.  Some I have kept in pretty close touch with; others I hadn’t seen since that graduation date over seven years ago.
There were good friends Jesse and Kathy, who are still in Vermillion with baby Maverick, named after a character in their all-time favorite movie, Top Gun.  Jesse, now sporting a beard, is still in med school for a couple more years.
Brandon was in town from Tucson for the festivities.  Brandon, who I roomed with at DSU as recently as 2004, is a waiter at a resort in Tucson.  He will also be back up for his parents’ 25-year anniversary in a few weeks.  Another fellow former co-resident of Madison, Ronnie, was back with his wife Kari but without his two kids.
Dusty was there with his new wife Jenna, and Josh was there with his new wife Shannon.  With those two married off, the class tally is now at 8/22 with a couple others engaged, including Sarah G. who is now out in Pierre.
Guy was back from the Black Hills and I think everyone would agree that of everyone from the class, Guy has gotten in the best shape, looking better than ever!  Marianne with her flashy short hair-do was back from Utah with her husband Brian.
Among those who I at first didn’t recognize were Todd and Jennie.  I didn’t really get the low-down from Todd where he is these days.  Jennie, the last classmate I expected to see, is now in Sioux Falls, doing her hairstyling gig.
Others I saw briefly but didn’t get the chance to chat much with were Justin and Angela.  Without question, it was the most I’ve seen of the class in the seven years.  It will probably be three more years for the ten-year reunion that I’ll see most of that gang again!
