Graduation Countdown: 9 Days
I have one week of classes left, then graduation, and then finals week. I learned today that we finished all our material in Portfolio class, so we don’t have to show up Monday or Friday next week. Since that’s my only class on MWF, I only have three regular days of classes left ever, then three days of finals. On another interesting note, I finally got the list of all the December graduates, and it seems I know many of them. The list includes names like Brooke Bappe, Scott Headrick, Mark Theisen, Dustin Schroeder, Kristin Kirkeby, Andrew Murphy, Tate Uecker, and Chris Walsh, along with myself, Amanda, Nick, and Craig.
Boys Back in Town?
That’s the plan, barring inclement weather. Patrick Lynch, Jason LaPlant, and Steve Carlson are scheduled to visit Madison tonight through Sunday for one last hurrah before my days in Madison are through. I got them the family whirlpool suite for the weekend down at the AmericInn with my huge employee discount. Hopefully it doesn’t get vomited in too much!
Still Powerless in Carpenter
I was finally able to talk with Mom on the phone Thursday afternoon, and it seems they are still without electricity after last weekend’s ice storm/blizzard passed through. It’s so bad there still that Willow Lake had school cancelled for the entire week, and possibly beyond. Mom is a big eBay-er, and is having problems confirming sales of her dozens of items online that she can’t access. Jordan has been trying to take over from Vermillion. Mom said Alex was so insanely bored with no electricity that he is driving to his girlfriend’s house 25 miles away to sit there with her in their powerless house. He is “too good” for Mom, refusing to even play board games to pass the time.
Twins Interested in Castillo
Thank God the Twins are finally making some noise with some trade rumors. The latest word is that the Twins and Marlins are discussing a trade for second baseman Luis Castillo. The Twins might have to part with JC Romero, JD Durbin, or Travis Bowyer in the deal, though. I wouldn’t hesitate to send any or all of those guys to Florida. There’s also talk of Frank Thomas now. Good!
